“Street Painting is one of the most joyful means of creative expression for me. It blends together several things I absolutely love in regards to my profession: imagination, drawing, color, education, teaching and performance. This is an art form that constantly gives to all who experience it.”

Originated from European artisans dating from the 16th century, who traveled to create drawings in public places for religious celebratory purposes, street painting (also known as chalk art) has grown in the last decade to become a world wide phenomenon. Today thousands of artists work as “madonnari” in all visual genres at festivals and events across the globe. Simply stated, street painting is a performance based art form involving drawing a fairly large sized image in chalk pastels on a public street, plaza or thoroughfare.

Tracy has been street painting for over 10 years and enjoys an international reputation as one of the art forms brightest stars. Find out more information about street painting under the Q & A heading.
