Riverstone Fundraising Event – 3d art you can live with!

I was graciously invited to Sugarland, Texas in October to participate in a unique experience – 3d ‘chalk’ (& paint) art for the home!  I was asked by event organizer, Christen Johnson, to create a permanent installation in a luxury residence at Riverstone, as part of the Grand Soiree fundraiser series of artist featured events sponsored by the Johnson Development Corp. After 3 days of painting and chalking on site, the home was opened to the public, with an overwhelming response, for a ‘meet and greet’ with yours truly as well as photo opportunities with the artwork.

As this ‘Tropical Waterfall’ image was created mostly with paint, guests were invited to interact with the image via the tree log spanning the opening over the falls. Everyone got into the act at the black tie reception, even the Neiman Marcus models!

Once the event was complete, the artwork was donated to the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Thanks to Christen Johnson and everyone at Riverstone & the Johnson Development Corporation for their generous hospitality and making my experience in Sugarland so lovely. Gratitude as always to Charlene Lanzel and Kelly McClain for artistic and project support.

‘Riverstone recently donated more than $12,000 to the Fort Bend Junior Service League and Fort Bend Seniors/Meals on Wheels—proceeds from ticket sales to see 3D artist Tracy Lee Stum and the artwork she created in our community. Celebrating the success of the event are: Pam Spencer, president FBJSL; Catherine Kubala; Beth Butler; Paula Moss; Christen Johnson, Riverstone marketing director; Tom Neyland of Sterling Classic Homes; Sherry Fuller; Manuela Arroyas, executive director of Fort Bend Seniors; Laura Thompson and Kristin Weiss.’
