3D Street Painting in Taiwan

HOLA-3D-Street-PaintingI recently returned from 3D street painting in Taiwan, where Team 3D and I created a terrific piece in Taipei for trendy home furnishing giant, HOLA! Invited to design a piece to promote the launch of HOLA’s spring collection, I designed an image that embodied the color and whimsy of their product line. The art depicted two stuffed animals enjoying a tea party, inviting viewers (more…)

I’m very excited and pleased to announce that I will be showcasing the very best in 4d street painting at the inaugural Bienal del Sur en Panama, which opens April 15 in beautiful Panama City. This international exhibition, host to over 200 artists from around the globe, is shaping up to be a major player on the contemporary art circuit.

Organized by Roxana Mendez de Obarrio, Mayor of Panama City, in partnership with Luz Botero, Advisor for the Promotion of Arts and Culture, this event is entitled ‘Summoning Worlds’ and focuses on “exploring ways to transform the city and its surroundings in a certain manner, actually involving the spectators in a constant dialogue and interaction with these structural practices. Such interventions shall be oriented towards logical and participatory processes, to work projects involving the public, towards proposals of access to technology and to present forms of communication in a temporary habitat of artistic experiences.”

The opening of the show will be April 15 and will extend through May, 2013. Luminaries such as Zaha Hadid & ROA will be participating, with artists representing the best in architecture, (more…)

Victoria International Chalk Art Society Festival 2012

Vcitoria Chalk Art Festival - Tracy Lee StumVictoria International Chalk Art Society Festival 2012What a truly beautiful place to draw! This was my first trip to gorgeous Victoria, British Columbia and it certainly won’t be my last. I had been invited by festival organizer John Vickers to feature my chalk art at the 1st Annual Victoria International Chalk Art Society Festival, in downtown Victoria.

I arrived early in the week to begin my rather large painting, sized 20′ x 20′, which was being showcased indoors at The Bay Center. Since this was an indoor installation I used a stretched canvas to work on, which yielded a beautiful and rich drawing. My image’s design was based on Aboriginal (more…)

3D Street Painting by World-Class Chalk Artists in Chile

Hola amigos! Magical, inspiring and ingenious – that how I’d describe my latest 3d chalk art adventure in beautiful Chile. My dear pal, Sharyn Namnath and I jetted down to lovely coastal Antofagasta, Chile to participate in the highly anticipated ‘Dia del Ingenio’ – 3d Street Painting extravaganza, sponsored by 3M. Slated for May 3, 3M decided to bring 3 of the world’s best street painters down to Chile, to simultaneously create 3 large scale 3d images, signature pieces created by each artist to promote ingenuity in the arts. You can see 3 is definitely the lucky number here!

Of course I was honored to be one of the three, and was excited to be drawing with world phenom Julian Beever, topping the bill in Santiago, and street painting icon, Kurt Wenner, making magic in Concepcion. The whacky thing about this was that we did not know about the other artists until we arrived, so it was a surprise for us for sure. Talk about turning the pressure on! So we put our best foot forward and hoped that our painting would please the people of Antofagasta. (more…)
