10 of World’s Most Amazing 3D Street Artists

While I have never considered street painting as graffiti (as it is not permanent nor does it deface property), I suppose that depends on one’s viewpoint. I was recently listed as one of the ‘Top 10 3D Street Artists in the World’ by WebUrbanist. I am deeply honored and appreciative that others find my work interesting or note-worthy - thanks Kurt! New video posted on YouTube

Check out my latest creation ‘Escape of the Mummy’ on YouTube:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=6r2joM0dntQ

This painting was created at the 2008 Youth in Arts Italian Street Painting Festival in San Rafael, California. My inspiration were the Indiana Jones and The Mummy films. If you look at the painting you will see the shadow of the Indiana Jones type explorer peaking around the corner of the back Egyptian chamber, while the Mummy is crawling out of the painting into our world. It was lots of fun to make and the crowd loved it!

You can see this and other videos of my work on the ‘demo’ or ‘video’ page of my website.

What Are The Origins of Street Painting?

When searching out how street painting first started I encountered a variety of versions of the story, from a variety of sources. All, however, generally agreed that it was first documented in Italy. While other forms of ephemeral works have been documented in other countries and cultures throughout history, I would like (more…)
